About QBI BACKGROUND: Owned by Rob Zimmers and an investment group, previously owned by Dawson Holdings PLC and originally founded by Tom Drewes as Mid-West Library Services in 1964, Quality Books Inc. provides libraries with small press books that are not widely available through other distributors. Since its inception, the company has outgrown three facilities in the greater Chicago area and now has its headquarters in Oregon, Illinois. TITLE SELECTION: Since the vast majority of books and non-print resources produced annually never reach a professional review page, Quality Books Inc. has a stringent review process for all of the titles we distribute. Our Title Selection Committee is made up of two MLS-degreed librarians and three publishing professionals. The committee uses more than 20 criteria with which to evaluate every title submitted to QBI for possible distribution. 94% initial fill rate to customers. Access to valuable, hard-to-find resources. Inventory devoted ONLY to libraries. Accessible and responsive staff. Shelf-ready processing. COMPLETE MARC records. Personalized electronic collection development tools. Integration with a variety of ILS modules. Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous sales representatives. Dedication to the promise of listening to customers, responding, and always delivering!
